Last week I got a text from my sister-in-law telling me that my nephew, Mr. Jaxson, wanted some fried pickles and she wanted to know who had the best. I decided to come up with a list for anyone who wants to know where to find good fried pickles in the Oklahoma City metro. Also now Mr. Jaxson has a list of places to tell his parents to try.
Zac’s Cajun Kitchen- They fry their pickles in a light batter similar to their shrimp. The pickles are just regular dill pickle chips but the good flavor ones (not Kosher dill). Very good, served with housemade ranch. This is also the same breading they use on their fried jalapenos as well, both are equally tasty.
Nashbird- They cut their pickles lengthwise and fry them with a thicker batter. Also served with ranch, they are a true treat.
Cal’s Chicago Style Eatery- These fried pickles are cut like French fries so looks are deceiving at first, but they are good. They can be ordered as a side with a meal.
Rock Cafe- Also fried in a light batter, they are good and come served on a huge plate with ranch. Almost don’t have room for any other food so perfect for a large group.
Ron’s Hamburger’s & Chili- I liked theirs as well, also have a thicker batter and served with ranch.
Philly Homa- They have a large serving of perfectly fried pickles.
Other places that have fried pickles. I just haven’t tried them yet-
Hideaway Pizza- Their fried mushrooms are perfect, so their pickles have to be good. Going to order them soon.
S&B Burger Joint- I don’t visit them often but I need to have some next time I do.
Clark Crew BBQ- I tried the deviled eggs the last time I was in but will tackle this next time.
The Lokal- They have fried pickle spears on the menu, it’s going to be hard not to have my deep-fried deviled eggs, but I have to try the pickles.
Chicken Foot- I love the Okie Poutine so much that I overlook their fried pickles, it won’t happen again.
Okie-Tonk- My favorite restaurant in Moore and I haven’t tried their fried pickles yet.
Chalk- I have only been here once but the next trip I will try the fried pickles.
