Food Friday: Vene Burgers

If you’ve been following me for a while, you know I love trying not only new places, but different food cultures as well. I heard good things about Vene Burgers, so I decided to check them out.

I had never tried Venezuelan food before so this was going to be a great new experience. On this Saturday night, there weren’t many people out, so we were able to place our order quickly. They do have menus in English, so that helped immensely. The staff was helpful as well, giving us tips on different items. The order started with tequenos, these are queso rolled into an egg roll type wrapper, then deep fried. I loved them. Basically, a cheese egg roll, I could have had nothing but these and been happy. We both got a hamburguesa la sin hueso. This has chicken, bacon, ham, cheese, lettuce, tomato, crushed potato chips, and house sauce on a bun. Served with fries, these “burgers” were huge. I loved the way the meats came together to create something unique. The fries were great as well. For a drink, I got a traditional Chicha. This is a horchata style drink, it was very sweet, with a hint of cinnamon.

I really enjoyed my visit to Vene Burgers. The food was definitely different and I enjoyed trying the new flavors. I’ll give them 5 strips of bacon.
