Come and travel Oklahoma with me.

I have been hearing about Sun Cattle Company for quite a while now, supposed to be some of the best burgers in town. We were in the area and decided to stop to give them a try.

First, my biggest issue is the parking situation. There is a parking lot behind the building but you have to pay. During the week, the curbside parking is also pay, if you can find a spot. At least it was a Saturday afternoon but we still parked two blocks away. After our short stroll, we did walk right up to the counter to order. Since it was my first visit, I went with a simple cheeseburger. Big K of course had to have the biggest burger, the Big Jack. I also got an order of their onion rings while Big K chose the chili cheese crowns. We got our order pretty quick. I was pleasantly surprised how big the onion rings were, gigantic. I started on them immediately, they were incredible. Thick pieces of onion dredged through a black pepper batter and perfectly fried. They were the best onion rings I have had in a long time. The burger was good as well. Meat was perfect with a nice char along with plenty of fried onions mixed in on a toasted bun. Big K was thoroughly enjoying his order. He wolfed down the chili cheese crowns, I had a bite and they were good as well. He did love the Big Jack, compared it to the MotherTucker at Tucker’s.

We had a great visit, other than the parking. Sun Cattle Co. has been in the Film District for a couple years now and I can understand why they have been successful. While you are in the area, you can walk around the historic district. Placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2007, the Film Exchange Historic District has a lot of Art Deco buildings still standing. I will give them 5 strips of bacon, preferably on a burger.
